Shout Factory: 4K Restoration of This Gun for Hire Detailed for Blu-ray

Shout Factory has detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of Frank Tuttle's film noir This Gun for Hire (1942) starring Veronica Lake, Robert Preston, Laird Cregar, Alan Ladd, and Tully Marshall. The release will be available for purchase on May 14.

Adapted from a novel by Graham Greene, This Gun For Hire is the edgy story of love, power and betrayal set in the seamy underworld of the 1940s. Philip Raven (Ladd) is a cold-blooded professional killer who's been double-crossed by his client. Ellen (Lake) is a beautiful nightclub singer who's spying on her corrupt boss. Lt.
