Vinegar Syndrome has announced its March batch of Blu-ray titles. They are: Michael Anderson's
Dominique (1979), Francis Teri's
The Suckling (1990), Andy Milligan's
Fleshpot on 42nd Street (1973), and Nico Mastorakis'
In the Cold of the Night (1990). All four releases will be available for purchase on March 26.
The Suckling
Synopsis: After being tricked into having an abortion at Big Mama's underground abortion clinic / brothel, a young woman's extracted fetus is flushed into the sewer system wherein it's exposed to toxic waste and begins to mutate into an ever growing and increasingly bloodthirsty monster. The girls, johns and other assorted weirdos find themselves trapped inside the brothel where they are forced to face off against the agitated, prenatal creature, as well as each other, in a high stakes quest to stay alive, or at least in one piece.
An offbeat and gleefully violent monster horror-comedy from one time director Francis Teri, THE SUCKLING blends gratuitous gore, nonchalant T&A, and a sly side helping of social commentary, resulting in a distinctive 80s horror indie gem. Vinegar Syndrome presents this direct-to-video favorite on Blu-ray in the US for the first time, in a brand new 2k restoration made from its original 16mm camera negative.
Special Features and Technical Specs:
- BRAND NEW 2K RESTORATION FROM THE ORIGINAL 16MM CAMERA NEGATIVE
- Video interview with writer/director Francis Teri
- Video interview with actor Michael Gingold
- Archival image gallery
- Reversible cover artwork
- Optional English SDH subtitles

Fleshpot on 42nd Street
Synopsis: Dusty, a street smart, but desperately unhappy prostitute who works in Times Square, uses her body to survive; seducing, conning, and ripping off her johns. After moving in with Cherry, a cross-dressing male prostitute, Dusty hopes to find more solid financial footing and a stable future in the sex trade, that is, until she meets Bob, a young lawyer who lives on Staten Island, who falls in love with her, and she with him. With a chance to escape her miserable existence becoming a possibility, Dusty starts dreaming of a future she never thought possible. But can she escape her own destiny?
Andy Milligan's masterpiece of urban sexual despair, FLESHPOT ON 42ND ST stars Laura Cannon (Forced Entry) in her career performance as Dusty, along side Milligan regular character actor Neil Flanagan, and sex film superstar Harry Reems. Evoking the cinéma vérité aesthetics of Paul Morrissey's work for Warhol as filtered through Cassavetes sobering examinations of loneliness and the working class condition, FLESHPOT remains Milligan's most powerful and personal film. Only ever available in heavily cut editions sourced from splicy prints, Vinegar Syndrome brings this crucial piece of 70s New York filmmaking to Blu-ray in a brand new 4k preservation of its previously unseen original and painstakingly reconstructed director's cut, featuring all of its legendary lost footage restored.
Special Features and Technical Specs:
- BRAND NEW 4K RESTORATION FROM THE ORIGINAL 16MM CAMERA REVERSAL
- Two different viewing options: the director's intended 1.37:1 framed presentation or the 1.85:1 theatrical framing.
- Audio commentary with film historians and authors Samm Deighan, Heather Drain, and Kat Ellinger

Dominique
Synopsis: Wealthy Dominique Ballard (Jean Simmons; Spartacus) lives with her husband David (Cliff Robertson; Obsession, Man on a Swing) in Dominique's giant English estate. Emotionally fragile, Dominique is harassed, tormented, and eventually driven mad by David until one night she hangs herself, resulting in her entire fortune being left to her husband. But what at first seems like a clever inheritance scheme soon becomes a waking nightmare for David as Dominique's spirit is not at rest and has instead risen from the grave to haunt him and avenge her death. But is the evil presence that appears to be seeking vengeance from the afterlife actually David's dearly departed wife or is someone else attempting their own elaborate and deadly hoax?
A suspenseful supernatural thriller from Michael Anderson (Logan's Run), DOMINIQUE (also known as Dominique is Dead) co-stars Jenny Agutter (Walkabout) and Judy Geeson (10 Rillington Place). Sumptuously photographed by Oscar winner Ted Moore (A Man For All Seasons, Goldfinger), Vinegar Syndrome brings DOMINIQUE to Blu-ray for the first time in an all new 2k restoration.

As his investigation progresses, Scott unwittingly finds himself in the center of a sinister conspiracy much stranger than his wildest nightmares.
An ultra-stylized, DePalma-esque, neo-noir erotic thriller from cult filmmaker Nico Mastorakis (Island of Death, Blind Date), IN THE COLD OF THE NIGHT stars Jeff Lester (Star Trek IV), Adrianne Sachs (Robocop), Brian Thompson (Cobra), David Soul (Starsky & Hutch), and Shannon Tweed (Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death), along with a guest appearance from Tippi Hedren (The Birds) and striking cinematography by Andreas Bellis (Thriller – A Cruel Picture).
