For the week that ended on December 8th, Paramount Home Media Distribution's Mission: Impossible - Fallout debuted at number one on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. The sixth installment in the popular Mission: Impossible franchise - and the second directed by Rogue Nation helmer Chris McQuarrie - Mission: Impossible - Fallout was a big success following its July 2018 release. The film scored terrific critical notices (it has an 86% score on Metacritic), and it then grossed over $791 million worldwide on top of its estimated $178-million production budget. This week, the film had a very strong Blu-ray market share of 75%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was Pixar and Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Incredibles 2. Director Brad Bird's long-awaited follow-up to his iconic 2004 superhero adventure, Incredibles 2 was a massive commercial success following its June 2018 release. The film scored terrific critical notices (it has an 80% score on Metacritic), and then it went on to gross over $1.2 billion worldwide on top of its estimated $200-million production budget. Incredibles 2 had a solid Blu-ray market share of 61% and sold 29% as many Blu-rays and 36% as many total units as Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

Finally, New Line and Warner Home Entertainment's The Nun rounded out the top three on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. This combination prequel/spin-off to the Conjuring series was, like its predecessors, a reliable hit for New Line and Warner. Although the film only received less-than mediocre critical notices (a 46% score on Metacritic), The Nun still went on to gross over $365 million worldwide on top of its modest estimated production budget of $22 million. On the Blu-ray-only list, The Nun had an HD market share of 47% and sold 18% as many Blu-rays as Mission: Impossible - Fallout. Regarding the overall package-media chart, the film sold 28% as many total units as the Mission: Impossible sequel.
