The Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) Japan has announced their list of the top Blu-ray titles of 2008. Awards are given for excellence in picture quality, sound quality, and interactivity. Additionally, a "Best in Show" award is given to the title which incorporates all of these qualities. Judges include pominent audio video critics, film and DVD magazine editors, and representatives from hardware manufacturers.
This year, the best in show winner was Warner Brother's '
The Dark Knight', for "unsurpassed clarity and sound on Blu-ray Disc and its ability to excite consumers and drive them to retail". The American arm of DEG also selected 'The Dark Knight' for their "Best in Show" award as well.
