British label Third Window Films will release on Blu-ray Shinichiro Ueda's film One Cut of the Dead (2018). The release will be available for purchase on January 28.

A cast of relative unknowns, a brilliantly disguised low budget and an epic, 37-minute opening single take makes Shinichiro Ueda's feature debut a bright, breezy and laugh-out-loud hilarious zombie comedy. A film crew is shooting a zombie horror flick in an abandoned water filtration plant, allegedly used for human experiments by the military. Just as the director browbeats his actors and demands more special effects blood, a real zombie apocalypse erupts, much to his auteur delight.

The label also announced that it is producing a live-action version of Osamu Tezuka's 1970s erotic manga Barbara. Theatrical and Blu-ray releases are expected in 2019. Directed by Osamu Tezuka's son Macoto Tezuka (The Legend of the Stardust Brothers) the film stars Goro Inagaki (13 Assassins) and Fumi Nikaido (Himizu) in the roles of novelist Yosuke Mikura and his muse Barbara. The film's cinematography was done by Wong-Kai-Wai regular Christopher Doyle (In the Mood for Love).
