Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring '
Star Trek: The Original Series - Season 1' to Blu-ray on April 28th. Video will be presented in 1.33:1 1080p accompanied by a 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack (a departure of the normal Dolby TrueHD soundtrack from the studio) along with the original mono track for purist.
Continuing with that theme, viewers will be able to select - via seamless branching - on whether to watch to the shows in their original splendor, or in the newly remastered form.
