Posted August 30, 2018 07:05 PM by Webmaster

British label Eureka Entertainment has announced that it will add six titles to its Blu-ray catalog in November: The Last Waltz, Once Upon A Time in China Trilogy, Hitler's Hollywood, and Lucky.

Lucky

Synopsis: John Carroll Lynch s directorial debut featuring Harry Dean Stanton (Cool Hand Luke; Alien; Paris, Texas; Repo Man) in one of his last starring roles.

Lucky follows the spiritual journey of Harry Dean Stanton s character Lucky , a cantankerous, self-reliant 90 year old atheist, and the quirky characters that inhabit the Arizona town where he lives. Having out-lived and out-smoked all of his contemporaries, the fiercely independent Lucky finds himself at the precipice of life, thrust into a journey of self-exploration, leading towards that which is so often unattainable: enlightenment.

Released in the US just days after Stanton s death at age 91, Lucky, is at once a love letter to the life and career of Harry Dean Stanton as well as a meditation on mortality, loneliness, spirituality, and human connection. Eureka Entertainment are proud to present Lucky on Blu-ray and DVD, as well as the acclaimed 2012 documentary, Harry Dean Stanton: Partly Fiction.

STREET DATE: NOVEMBER 12.

Hitler's Hollywood

Synopsis: Nazi-cinema was a state-controlled industry, subject to rigid political and cultural censorship. At the same time, it aspired to be "Great Cinema"; it viewed itself as an ideological and aesthetic alternative to Hollywood. A German dream factory.

Rüdiger Suchsland's HITLER'S HOLLYWOOD takes a closer look at the roughly 1000 feature films made in Germany between 1933-1945, examining how stereotypes of the "enemy" and values of love and hate managed to be planted, into the heads of the German people, through the cinema screens.

Special Features and Technical Specs:
  • Option of the original German language version with optional English subtitles OR with English language narration by Udo Kier
  • From Caligari to Hitler: German Cinema in the Age of the Masses – Director Rüdiger Suchsland's 2014 documentary on the social and cultural impact of German Cinema during the Weimar Republic (1918-1933)

Once Upon a Time in China Trilogy

ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA – In 19th century Canton, Wong Fei-hung battles ruthless imperialist forces determined to subjugate his country and enslave his people, leading to a climactic fight sequence still regarded as one of the best ever filmed.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA II – Wong Fei-hung faces off against the White Lotus Cult, a dangerous xenophobic group seeking to drive all European influence out of China, as well as a corrupt military officer, played by Donnie Yen in his breakthrough role.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA III – Wong Fei-hung travels to Peking and is forced to enter a martial-arts contest in order to prevent an assassination attempt against a prominent Chinese diplomat who wants to showcase traditional Chinese martial-arts, and restore national pride.
