Kino Lorber have detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of William Friedkin's film Good Times (1967), starring Sonny Bono, Cher, Norman Alden, Kelly Thordsen, Edy Williams, China Lee, Hank Worden, Charles Smith, and Lennie Weinrib. The release, which will be sourced from a brand new 4K remaster, will be available for purchase on September 25.
Synopsis: In their one-and-only onscreen pairing, singing duo Sonny and Cher star in a "happy" (The Hollywood Reporter), "affectionate" (Los Angeles Times) and "loveably surreal" (American Cinematheque) film about - who else? - Sonny and Cher!. An "impressive directorial debut" (The Hollywood Reporter) from Oscar winner William Friedkin, with a hilarious script by Tony Barrett, Good Times is good, great and downright groovy!
Husband-and-wife singers Sunny and Cher couldn't be hotter - they even have an offer to star in a movie! Trouble is, Cher doesn't want to do it and the script stinks. Now Sonny has ten days to write a new script. He has great ideas - he could be a cowboy, the king of the jungle or a private eye. But he still has to convince his dynamite babe to sing the same tune!
