Scream Factory has confirmed that it is preparing a Collector's Edition of John Boorman's film Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977), starring Linda Blair, Louise Fletcher, Richard Burton, Max von Sydow, and James Earl Jones. The two-disc set will be available for purchase on September 25.
Supplemental features to be included on this upcoming release have not yet been finalized, and will be revealed as the street date approaches. However, the label has already announced that it will produce new high-definition transfers of two cuts of the film! (The 117 min version that has been on Blu-ray and DVD before and a shorter, alternate version that was created after the film's initial release in 1977). A brand new interview with actress Linda Blair will also appear on the upcoming set.
