For the week that ended on May 12th, Universal Studios Home Entertainment's Fifty Shades Freed premiered at number one on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. The final entry in the Fifty Shades of Grey series, this erotic thriller overcame toxic critical notices and found decent commercial success. Critics hated the film (vide its 31% Metacritic rating), but viewers were more supportive, helping it gross over $368 million worldwide on top of its estimated $55-million production budget. This week, Fifty Shades Freed had a Blu-ray market share of 59%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Peter Rabbit. A slapstick-heavy interpretation of the popular children's stories, Peter Rabbit was a modest success when it premiered last February. The film only scored so-so critical takes (a 51% Metacritic rating), but viewers were more supportive, with audiences helping it to gross over $114 million domestically on top of its estimated $50-million production budget. Peter Rabbit had an HD market share of 54% and sold 27% as many Blu-rays and 29% as many overall package-media units as Fifty Shades Freed.

Finally, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's Fox's The Greatest Showman filled out the top-three spots on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. This musical biopic about the life and times of P.T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman), The Greatest Showman proved a sleeper hit with audiences last December. The film garnered mediocre critical notices (a 48% Metacritic rating), but viewers still supported the picture, helping it net a worldwide gross of $424 million on top of its estimated $84-million production budget. The Greatest Showman had a solid HD market share of 64% and sold 27% as many Blu-rays as Fifty Shades Freed. Regarding the overall package-media list, the film sold 24% as many total units as the Fifty Shades sequel.
