For the week that ended on April 7th, Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi remained at Number One on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. The latest - and most controversial - installment in the iconic Star Wars franchise, The Last Jedi was a massive hit with critics and audiences. The film garnered great critical notices (an 85% Metacritic rating), and viewers supported the picture to the tune of a $1.3-billion gross (worldwide) on top of its estimated $200-million production budget. This week, The Last Jedi had a very strong Blu-ray market share of 79%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. A sequel to the 1995 family favorite, this spirited action-comedy proved a major hit with audiences. While the film only scored okay critical notices (a 58% Metacritic rating), viewers adored the picture, which has gone on to gross over $943 million worldwide on top of its rumored $90-million production budget. Jumanji 2 had an HD market share of 59% and sold 26% as many Blu-rays and 35% as many overall package-media units as The Last Jedi.

Finally, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Thor: Ragnarok filled out the top-three spots on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. This third film in Marvel's Thor franchise - and the latest installment in its popular MCU offerings - Ragnarok became the runaway box-office success that has eluded the Thor pictures up to this point. The film scored decent critical notices (a 74% Metacritic rating) and went on to gross over $854 million worldwide on top of its estimated $180-million production budget. Thor 3 had a solid HD market share of 69% and sold 14% as many Blu-rays and 16% as many total units as the Star Wars sequel.
