For the week that ended on March 31st, Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi debuted at the top of the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. The latest - and most controversial - installment in the iconic Star Wars franchise, The Last Jedi was a massive hit with critics and audiences. The film garnered great critical notices (an 85% Metacritic rating), and viewers supported the picture to the tune of a $1.3-billion gross (worldwide) on top of its estimated $200-million production budget. This week, The Last Jedi had a very strong Blu-ray market share of 80%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The sequel to the 1995 family favorite, this spirited action-comedy proved a major hit with audiences. While the film only scored okay critical notices (a 58% Metacritic rating), viewers adored the picture, which has gone on to gross over $943 million worldwide on top of its rumored $90-million production budget. Jumanji 2 had an HD market share of 56% and sold 20% as many Blu-rays and 29% as many overall package-media units as The Last Jedi.

Finally, Pixar and Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Coco filled out the top-three spots on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. A spirited musical-comedy, the animated Coco proved yet another success for Pixar's creative department. In addition to its worldwide box-office gross of over $745 million, the picture netted terrific critical notices (a 81% Metacritic rating) and recently won Academy Awards for both Best Original Song and Best Animated Feature. Coco had a solid HD market share of 65% and sold 11% as many Blu-rays and 13% as many total units as the Star Wars sequel.
