British label Eureka Entertainment has announced that it will add two new titles to its Blu-ray catalog: Tom Gries' Breakheart Pass (1975) and Stanley Kramer's Inherit the Wind (1960). The two releases will be available for purchase this May.

Inherit the Wind

Described by Steven Spielberg as "one of our great filmmakers, not just for the art and passion he put on screen, but for the impact he has made on the conscience of the world", the films of producer and director Stanley Kramer (The Defiant Ones, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner) frequently confronted social issues considered too controversial for the major studios. In Inherit the Wind he tackled the creationism vs. evolution debate.

When a teacher in a small Tennessee town is brought to trial for teaching Darwinism, attorney Henry Drummond (Spencer Tracy, Bad Day at Black Rock) faces off against fundamentalist leader Matthew Harrison Brady (Frederic March, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) in an explosive battle of beliefs.

Also operating as a searing critique of McCarthyism, Inherit the Wind was nominated for multiple Academy Awards, and is rightfully recognized as one of the most entertaining, and provocative films of its era. Eureka Classics is proud to present Inherit the Wind for the first time on Blu-ray in the UK in a special Dual Format edition.

Breakheart Pass

An action-packed mystery western based on the best-selling novel by Alistair MacLean (The Guns of Navarone, Ice Station Zebra, Where Eagles Dare), Breakheart Pass throws open the throttle for runaway excitement!

At the height of the frontier era, a locomotive races through the Rocky Mountains on a classified mission to a remote Army post. But one by one, the passengers are being murdered. Their only hope is John Deakin (Charles Bronson, Hard Times, The Magnificent Seven), a mysterious prisoner-in-transit who must fight for his life – and the lives of everyone on the train – as he uncovers a deadly secret that explodes in a torrent of shocking revelations, explosive brawls and blazing gun battles.

With a rousing score by Jerry Goldsmith and a powerful supporting cast that includes Ben Johnson (The Last Picture Show), Richard Crenna (First Blood) and Jill Ireland (Hard Times), Eureka Classics is proud to present Breakheart Pass for the first time on Blu-ray in the UK in a special Dual Format edition.

The label has also confirmed that it will release on Blu-ray Carlos and Jason Sanchez's romantic thriller Allure (2017) after the film's theatrical premiere in the United Kingdom and Ireland later this year.

Allure

From the renowned artists Carlos and Jason Sanchez who have long been captivating the art world with their large format, provocative photography, Allure stars Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld, The Wrestler, The Ides of March), Julia Sarah Stone (The Killing, Weirdos, Wim Wenders' Every Thing Will be Fine) and Denis O'Hare (Dallas Buyers Club, Milk).

Plagued by the abuse of her past and the turmoil of failed intimate encounters, Laura (Evan Rachel Wood) struggles to find a lover and a sense of normalcy. Her beacon of hope comes in sixteen year-old Eva (Julia Sarah Stone), a talented pianist disillusioned by the life her mother imposes upon her. An unlikely relationship is formed between the two and Eva becomes an obsession to Laura. In light of Eva's unhappiness, Laura convinces her to runaway to her house and they soon find themselves caught within an intense entanglement. Manipulation, denial and co-dependency fuel what ultimately becomes a fractured dynamic that can only sustain itself for so long. STREET DATE: LATE MAY 2018.
