I was asked to stress that his product is only for USA consumption. That is not to say you won't see a product similar to this in another country sometime in the future, but any non US reader do not ask or enquire.
Magnavox have announced their 42MD459B another TV with a built in Blu-ray player, whilst some companies are incorporating a built in Blu-ray into their smaller 30 inch range of TV's, not Magnavox. As the model implies this is a 42 inch Display.
The TV has a 1080p display. We don't know the specifications of the Blu-ray player but I think it's fair to assume that the Blu-ray player will provide all the video resolutions that we expect from all the Blu-ray players that have been released this year up to and including 1080p.
As this has a built-in Blu-ray player it's not in the competition for thinnest flat panel at the show, but it's certainly not the thickest screen that has ever been made.
The pricing for this has not yet been finalised, but expect this TV and Blu-ray player combination to be under $1,400. The expected release date for Magnavox 42MD459B is in April or May 2009.
