The innovative, rapidly rising business D-BOX Technologies continues to strengthen its presence in the home theatre industry by amassing an arsenal of new products, wider studio support, more Blu-ray Disc titles utilizing their patented D-BOX Motion Code, and even installation in commercial cinemas, as revealed at the 2009 CES.

The legendary Mann Chinese 6 in Los Angeles, California is now equipped with a select section of D-BOX Motion Code System chairs within theatre six of the multiplex cinema. Audiences can feel D-BOX's more immersive experience firsthand while seated in a comfortable and sophisticated system which "delivers movement sensations of pitch, roll, heave and intelligent vibration," according to the press release. The Mann marks the commercial debut of D-BOX Systems chairs, with more anticipated to follow.

The D-BOX GPH-120On the home theatre front, D-BOX has introduced a new "hybrid" chair system, the GPH-120. With a quick shuffle of accessories, the GPH-120 has the ability to shift between video gameplay and home video use. "We call the GPH-120 a hybrid system because it bridges the gap between the home theatre and gaming markets," says Claude Mc Master, President and Chief Executive Officer of D-BOX Technologies. "This represents an important milestone for D-BOX in the fast growing gaming market as it positions us perfectly for the eventual compatibility of our technology with major gaming consoles." The new GPH-120, with an MSRP of $2,999, can be used for a rolling experience (literally) from over 850 films on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, as a variety of PC-based games like Nitro Stunt Racing and Battlefield 2. The company has every intent of eventually introducing D-BOX into video game consoles like the PS3.

For the truly immersive high definition experience, D-BOX Technologies has added two major Hollywood studios and one high-end home video distributor to the fold; Universal Studios Home Entertainment, Sony Pictures, and Blue Underground have joined the ranks of 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment as major players which support the D-BOX Motion Effects (D-BOX MFX) system, which can be used on more than 250 Blu-ray releases. Over 50 titles will be released in the next 6 to 7 months with D-BOX encoded directly onto the disc, including Disney's Bolt and Fox's Max Payne and Mirrors.
