StudioCanal: Three Restored Classic Henri-Georges Clouzot Films Heading to Blu-ray (UPDATED)

StudioCanal have announced that they will release three fully restored classic films from Henri-Georges Clouzot: Quai Des Orfevres (1947), Le Corbeau (1943), and La Prisonnière. The three releases will. be available for purchase in March.

UPDATE: Bonus features for each release are now detailed below.

The current announcement does not list any special features, but we have confirmed that the upcoming releases will have such. (We hope to have complete details soon).

Quai des Orfèvres

Synopsis: A marriage that has fallen on hard times is further tested by the couple's implication in a murder. Jenny Lamour (Suzy Delair) is a music hall chanteuse married to her pianist husband Maurice (Bernard Blier). Keen to get ahead, Jenny leaps at the chance when an ageing wealthy businessman (Charles Dullin) offers her the chance of some gigs. However, when she agrees to a meeting at his home and he is found dead later in the evening - Maurice's untamed jealousy is in the frame. A Maigret-esque detective, Antoine, played by Louis Jouvet leaves no stone unturned in his exceedingly private investigations of the down-at-heel showbiz couple's sad, tempestuous life.

Le Corbeau a.k.a. The Raven

Synopsis: Henri-George Clouzot's dark and subversive study of human nature stars Pierre Fresnay and Ginette Leclerc. A wave of hysteria sweeps the small provincial town of St Robin when a series of poison-pen letters signed 'Le Corbeau' (The Raven) appear denouncing several prominent members of society. Starting with the village doctor, the slow sinister trickle of letters soon becomes a flood and no one is safe from the malicious accusations, which include abortion and drug addiction. Beneath the town's respectful and calm surface lurks a darker side in which everyone is a suspect. With the townspeople afraid to accuse each other for fear of being accused, suspicion and hatred reach epidemic levels.

La Prisonnière a.k.a. Woman in Chains

Josée, the wife of artist Gilbert, falls under the charm of a gallery owner who photographs naked women in sometimes humiliating positions... Henri-George Clouzot's final film is a dark psychological thriller with a sultry atmosphere, starring Élisabeth Wiener, Laurent Terzieff, and Bernard Fresson.
