Gaumont: Two Classic Films With Jean Gabin Detailed for Blu-ray

French label Gaumont has informed us that it has detailed two upcoming Blu-ray releases: Georges Lacombe's The Night is My Kingdom a.k.a. La Nuit est mon royaum (1951) and Henri Decoin's The Truth of Our Marriage a.k.a. La Vérite sur Bébé Donge (1952). The two releases will be available for purchase in February.

Winner of the prestigious Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the 1951 Venice Film Festival.

Synopsis: A terrible accident has left Raymond completely blind. His family treats him like a child, but a nun comes to his rescue. She works in a center where blind people learn to read with the Braille alphabet. The film was lensed by Philippe Agostini (Jules Dassin's Rififi). Starring Jean Gabin, Simone Valère, Gérard Oury, Jacques Dynam, and Marthe Mercadier.
