China Hualu Panasonic (a joint venture between China Hualu and Panasonic) have release three Blu-ray players for the Chinese market. The
Hualu BDP0801 ($292) and
BDP0810 ($336) are both BonusView players, while the
BDP0821 ($365) supports BD-Live. No other technical specs are known about the players at this time.
The players represent Blu-ray in what can better be described as a playground scrap between the internationally known high definition format and the China-based CBHD. Currently, no major manufacturers or studios are supporting that format, and the introduction of these Hualu players is expected to start the penetration of the Blu-ray format in that region.
