Liam Neeson Announces Retirement From Action Films as First Teaser for The Commuter is Revealed

Lionsgate and StudioCanal have provided us with the first official domestic teaser trailer for director Jaume Collet-Serra's latest project, The Commuter (2017), starring Liam Neeson, Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Killian Scott, Sam Neil, Elizabeth McGovern, and Jonathan Banks. The film will open in theaters across the nation on January 12.

Approximately 24 hours ago, news broke that Neeson, who is 65 years old, has officially announced that he will retire from action films. According to Sky News, in addition to Hard Powder "Neeson has a final two in the pipeline which will be released in the coming months."

Studio synopsis: In this action-packed thriller, Liam Neeson plays an insurance salesman, Michael, on his daily commute home, which quickly becomes anything but routine. After being contacted by a mysterious stranger, Michael is forced to uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on his train before the last stop. As he works against the clock to solve the puzzle, he realizes a deadly plan is unfolding and is unwittingly caught up in a criminal conspiracy. One that carries life and death stakes, for himself and his fellow passengers.
