For the week that ended on June 11th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Beauty and the Beast debuted at the top of the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings. This live-action remake of the iconic Disney animated classic was a huge hit with audiences this year. Beauty and the Beast might have scored only decent critical notices (a Metacritic score of 65%), but it went on to gross over $1.2 billion worldwide on top of its projected $160-million production budget. This week, Beauty and the Beast had a strong Blu-ray market share of 72%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts was Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's Logan. A violent, emotionally wrenching extension of Hugh Jackman's popular Wolverine character, Logan proved a hit with both critics and audiences. Logan scored solid critical notices (a Metacritic score of 77%) and grossed over $607 million worldwide on top of its projected $97-million production budget. Logan sold 7% as many Blu-rays as Beauty and the Beast (and had an HD market share of 66%) and 8% as many total units.

Finally, another Disney feature - 1942's Bambi - filled out the top-three spots on the Blu-ray-only sales ranking. One of the most beloved animated films ever made, Bambi received a special "Anniversary Edition" Blu-ray this month: fitting treatment for a film that, while a commercial failure upon its initial theatrical release, ultimately grossed over $267 million worldwide on top of its $1.7-million production budget. On the Blu-ray-only list, Bambi had an HD market share of 77% and sold 7% as many Blu-rays as Beauty and the Beast. Regarding the overall package-media chart, the film sold 6% as many total units as Beauty and the Beast.
