British label Second Sight Films has confirmed that it is preparing a Blu-ray release of director Joseph Ruben's film Dreamscape (1984), starring Dennis Quaid, Max von Sydow, Kate Capshaw, Christopher Plummer, and Eddie Albert. The release will be available for purchase on July 17.
Supplemental features to be included on this upcoming release have not yet been finalized.
Synopsis: Dennis Quaid plays a compulsive gambler with telepathic powers who takes a job as a dream therapist to pay off his debts. He has the ability to step into the nightmares of other people and, in doing so, can help them overcome the traumas which cause them. However, someone else with the same gift is determined to invade the paranoid dreams of the US President, with potentially deadly consequences. Quaid is the only obstacle in the way of this seemingly fail-safe asassination plot.
