Sony Pictures is the latest studio to pull out of Korea after facing a shrinking market due to rampant piracy of films. Similar to a move made by Warner Brothers a few months back, Sony will no longer distribute titles in Korea, and has sold distribution rights to United Entertainment Korea (who also holds distribution rights for Universal films as well).

In other news, Warner Brothers has extended a deal with Universal Studios to distribute Warner and New Line DVDs and Blu-rays in Russia. For at least the next three years, Universal will handle distribution in what they are describing as "an exciting growth market".
