Kino Lorber have dated and detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of director Allan Dwan's film
Zaza (1923), starring Gloria Swanson, H.B. Warner, Ferdinand Gottschalk, Lucille La Verne, and Mary Thurman. The release will be available for purchase on June 6.
Synopsis: Synopsis: This film is based on the 1899 French play of the same name produced on Broadway by David Belasco and starring Mrs. Leslie Carter. Surviving prints of the film are housed at the George Eastman House and the Library of Congress.
A previous film version was released by Paramount in 1915 starring Pauline Frederick. A third version, directed by George Cukor and starring Claudette Colbert, was released in 1939.
Dwan's film has never before appeared on DVD or Blu-ray in the United States.
