Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of director Keeichi Hara and Japanese powerhouse Production I.G.'s Miss Hokusai, the remarkable story of the daughter, O-Ei, behind one of history's most famous artists, the revered painter Hokusai. The animated film arrives on Blu-ray on March 7th.
Synopsis: As all of Edo flocks to see the work of famed artist Hokusai, his daughter O-Ei toils diligently, creating the paintings sold under her father's name. Shy in public, in the studio O-Ei is brash and uninhibited. Seeking to come into her own as an artist, O-Ei sets out into the bustling city of Edo (present-day Tokyo), where she encounters spirits, dragons, con men and traders.
Miss Hokusai is presented in 1080p with Japanese and English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround tracks. Special features include the feature-length documentary "The Making of Miss Hokusai" and a series of trailers.
