U.S. label Shout Factory has announced that it will add one more title to its Blu-ray catalog in April: acclaimed dierctor Volker Schlöndorff's drama The Handmaid's Tale (1990), starring Natasha Richardson, Faye Dunaway, Aidan Quinn, Elizabeth McGovern, and Victoria Tennant. The release, which will be part of the label's recently launched Shout Select line, will be available for purchase on April 18.
Synopsis: With a "cool eroticism, intelligence and intensity" (Playboy), this eerie futuristic thriller, based on Margaret Atwood's controversial and critically acclaimed best-selling novel, is filled with "large themes and deep thoughts" (Roger Ebert).
