RLJ Entertainment has detailed the Blu-ray release of director Paul Schrader's Dog Eat Dog, which stars Nicolas Cage, Willem Dafoe, Christopher Matthew Cook, Louisa Krause and Magi Avila. The action-thriller arrives on Blu-ray on December 27th.
Synopsis: In this "sordid and engaging crime drama" (The Hollywood Reporter), ex-cons Troy (Cage), Mad Dog (Dafoe) and Diesel (Christopher Matthew Cook) are hired by an eccentric mob boss to kidnap a baby for a large ransom. The California three strikes law looms over them, but what the hell, they're going to do it, and they're going to do it their way. Troy, an aloof mastermind, seeks an uncomplicated, clean life but cannot get away from his hatred for the system. Diesel is on the mob's payroll and his interest in his suburban home and his nagging wife is waning. The loose cannon of the trio, Mad Dog, is possessed by true demons within, which lead him from one situation to the next. One more hit, one more jackpot, and they'll all be satisfied.
But when the abduction goes awry, the trio find themselves on the run from the mob and the cops. Vowing to stay out of prison at all costs, getting away with the crime is literally a matter of life and death.
Dog Eat Dog was featured as a Closing Night Film (Directors' Fortnight) at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, at Midnight Madness at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, and at Fantastic Fest 2016.
