For the week that ended on November 6th, Star Trek Beyond took the number-one spots on both the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media rankings. The latest of the Bad Robot-produced Star Trek reboots, Star Trek Beyond had a tough time connecting with audiences this summer. While it engendered fairly respectable critical notices (as evinced by its 68% Metacritic score), this sci-fi blockbuster only grossed just under $159 million domestically on top of its estimated $185-million production budget. This week, Star Trek Beyond had a strong Blu-ray market share of 74%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists was Universal Studios Home Enterainment's Bad Moms. This raunchy comedy was one of Summer 2016's sleeper hits, scoring an average Metacritic ranking of 60% but then going on to gross $113 million domestically on top of its modest $20-million production budget. In terms of the Blu-ray-only list, the film had a Blu-ray market share of 47% and sold 25% as many Blu-rays as Star Trek Beyond. On the overall package-media chart, Bad Moms sold 38% as many total units as the Star Trek sequel.

Finally, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's Independence Day: Resurgence rounded out the top-three titles on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media rankings. The long-awaited sequel to the 1996 smash hit, Resurgence nonetheless struggled with critics and audiences. This sci-fi adventure only grossed $103 million domestically on top of its estimated $165-million production budget, and its critical reception was even less impressive, given its Metacritic score of 32%. On the Blu-ray-only list, Independence Day: Resurgence sold 10% as many discs as Star Trek Beyond and had a Blu-ray market share of 54%. And regarding the overall package-media chart, Resurgence sold 13% as many discs as the Star Trek feature.
