U.S. label Broadgreen Pictures has detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of director Jocelyn Moorhouse's film The Dressmaker (2015), starring Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Hugo Weaving, Sarah Snook, Judy Davis, and Kery Fox. The release will be available for purchase on December 27.
In 2015, The Dressmaker was the most nominated film at The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), with 12 nominations, beating the 11 nominations for Mad Max: Fury Road. The film won 4 awards, including Best Actress (Kate Winslet).
Synopsis: Jocelyn Moorhouse directs this Australian revenge comedy starring Kate Winslet as Myrtle Dunnage, a woman who returns to her hometown to take care of her ailing mother Molly (Judy Davis). Myrtle's return sparks much debate between the residents of the town as she was accused of murdering someone many years ago. Now an expert dressmaker, Myrtle goes about transforming the local fashion while exacting her revenge upon those who have wronged her in the past... The supporting cast includes Liam Hemsworth and Hugo Weaving.
