Nucleus Films to Restore Giulio Questi's Death Laid an Egg

Earlier this week, British label Nucleus Films announced that it plans to restore two cult European films through a Indigogo campaign. Today, the label revealed that the second film will be Giulio Questi's Death Laid an Egg a.k.a. La morte ha fatto l'uovo (1968), starring Gina Lollobrigida, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Ewa Aulin, Renato Romano, and Jean Sobieski.

Synopsis: A woman (Ewa Aulin) plans to kill both her lover (Jean-Louis Trintignant) and his wife (Gina Lollobrigida) but conspires with each one to get the job done. Cinematography by Dario Di Palma (Ettore Scola's Ugly, Dirty and Bad, Lina Wertmüller's The Seduction of Mimi).

The first title in the project is Mel Welles' Lady Frankenstein a.k.a. La figlia di Frankenstein (1971), starring Joseph Cotten, Rosalba Neri, Paul Muller, Peter Whiteman, Herbert Fuxa, and Joshua Sinclair.

Synopsis: When Dr. Frankenstein is killed by a monster he created, his daughter and his lab assistant Marshall continue his experiments. The two fall in love and attempt to transplant Marshall's brain in to the muscular body of a retarded servant Stephen, in order to prolong the aging Marshall's life and fulfilling her strange sexual desires. Meanwhile, the first monster seeks revenge on the grave robbers who sold the body parts used in its creation to Dr. Frankenstein. Soon it comes after Marshall and the doctor's daughter...
