Plexifilm has announced that they have indefinitely delayed the Blu-ray release of '
I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco' due to an email released by the band last week asking fans to not purchase the disc due to their belief that a Blu-ray release would not be worth the upgrade. The company will now show the high definition release to the band in order to illustrate the great gains a Blu-ray release can provide.
Initially, Wilco did not believe that a Blu-ray release could look and sound better than a DVD - obviously unaware of what Blu-ray actually represents. The band later relented, stating that they understand that a Blu-ray would present the film better than DVD, but were still unsure if it was enough of a gain to warrant the extra cost to fans.
There is hope, however, as the band did state that the release would come, and at that time they would poll fans to get a general reaction to the release. Until then, Wilco fans will have to wait as the band takes some time to educate themselves on home media.
