Sony Pictures/Music and Universal Studios/Music have jointly announced that they will soon launch a line of entertainment vending machines which they are calling "PoP". The machines, which look similar to other vending machines, will be filled with DVDs, and of course, Blu-rays of the latest films from the studios.

Additionally, the machines will features digital downloads of music from the two studios, which can be played on most types of portable music players or saved to SD cards. The machines will even feature PS3 games!

As the machines use touchscreen video displays, consumers will be able to preview trailers from the latest Blu-ray titles before making a purchase. And because they operate 24 hours a day, you can fill your high definition craving at any time.

When they do launch, Sony and Universal promise that 150 films will be available, though it is unclear how many of those films will be on Blu-ray. Launch details are expected shortly.
