British label Eureka Entertainment has revealed that it will add various new titles to its Blu-ray catalog. Amongst them are Anthony Mann's
The Man from Laramie, Catherine Hardwicke's
Lords of Dogtown, and Kiyoshi Kurosawa's
Creepy.
The Man from Laramie
An intensely satisfying drama of rugged primitive justice, The Man From Laramie marked the final, and finest, collaboration of one of the most important teams in Western films: director Anthony Mann and star Jimmy Stewart. Together this perfectly-matched pair provided audiences with eight classic pictures, including Winchester '73 and Stategic Air Command.
Under Mann's superb direction, Stewart departs from his well-loved 'ordinary hero" role and gives a riveting performance as a resolute vigilante obsessed with finding the man responsible for his brother's death. Among the suspects are an arrogant cattle baron (Donald Crisp), his sadistic son (Alex Nicol) and his ranch foreman (Arthur Kennedy, in the best performance of his career). One explosive confrontation, in which Stewart is dragged by a wild horse and shot in the hand at close range, is one of movie history's most memorable sequences. Among the first Western's filmed in CinemaScope, The Man From Laramie uses the wide-screen technology to emphasize the scope and power of this harrowing action-drama, making it a perfect example of the Western as America's epic art form.

Lords of Dogtown
Director Catherine Hardwicke followed up her highly acclaimed debut Thirteen with this exhilarating drama about the origin of extreme sports culture, and the devastating effects it has on the lives of those who created it.
After a severe drought empties Southern California's swimming pools, "Z-Boys" Tony (Victor Rasuk), Stacy (John Robinson) and Jay (Emile Hirsch) move in with their boards and develop an entirely new style of skateboarding, heavily influenced by their surfing background. After winning numerous competitions, skateboarding and the Z-Boys both become a worldwide phenomenon, but this newfound success shreds their friendship.
Also starring Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain, The Dark Knight) Lords of Dogtown is one of the finest sports films of its generation, and Eureka Entertainment are proud to present the film for the first time in the UK in a special Dual-Format edition.
Special Features: TBA.

Roxanne
Steve Martin delivers a magnificent performance as an engaging small town fire chief who has only one tiny flaw - his astonishingly long nose. Although he considers it no laughing matter, the hilarity never stops as C.D. Bales (Martin) contends with his bumbling crew of firemen, and his secret love for gorgeous astronomy student Roxanne (Daryl Hannah).
Unfortunately, she is attracted to fireman Chris (Rick Rossovich), who's tall on looks and short on conversation. And when C.D. agrees to coach the dumbstruck Chris in his pursuit of the fair maiden, this ticklish triangle dissolves into a hilarious series of rib-tickling romantic misadventures. Written by Martin as an update to Cyrano de Bergerac, and directed by Fred Schepisi, this remains an enchanting classic.

Jinnah
After his death in 1948, Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Christopher Lee) awaits final judgement in the afterlife and must tell the story of his life, before celestial bureaucrats decide his fate. His story covers the intense political strife and bloody events that led to the formation of the Muslim nation of Pakistan.
Attracting much controversy during production, but released to great acclaim, particularly in Pakistan, Jamil Dehlavi's JINNAH is an intelligent and moving piece of cinema, with a performance by Sir Christopher Lee that he personally believed to be the finest of his career.

Finally, the label has announced that it will re-release on DVD
Maid Marian and her Merry Men.
Maid Marrian and her Merry Men was consistently number 1 in the children's TV ratings throughout its four series, partly because it was popular with children of all ages, but also because it became "must see" viewing for students and young adults. It was popular with the critics too, winning a BAFTA, an RTS Award and the International Prix Jeunesse. This perfectly conceived historical farce is witty, warm and stylish. An excellent cast and faultless writing has drawn comparisons to Blackadder, Red Dwarf, and The Young Ones. It is one of those rare programmes made for and enjoyed by both children and adults and has secured a huge fan-base in the twenty seven years since the first series was initially transmitted.
The latest edition will feature a limited edition booklet by Paul Cemmick.
