Blade Runner Comes to Blu-ray

Twenty-five years ago, a movie was released that changed the way sci-fi films would be viewed forever. That film was 'Blade Runner'. For years, fans have been waiting for the definitive version of the film from the acclaimed director Ridley Scott (who did not approve the current Director's Cut of the film). After years of legal tie-ups, a definitive cut of film is now complete and is set for release this October of Blu-ray.

According to the website of Joanna Cassidy (the actress who played Replicant Zhora in the film), she recently participated in the reshooting of several scenes from the movie. Before fans get upset, these shot are not story driven, and are only to correct bad shots during the original shoot (like when a boom mike makes an unwanted appearance) and not re-creating the story. So no Star Wars type fiasco here; the movie hasn't changed, just some work has been done to clean up existing footage, and when that's not possible, to reshoot with the existing footage as a template.

As one of the most anticipated titles coming from Warner, we can't wait to see the specs on this one.
