U-Tech Receives Orders From Hollywood

U-Tech Media, a Taiwan-based manufacturer of pre-recorded Blu-ray media, has received several "urgent" orders from major Hollywood studios, according to industry sources. Sony DADC and Cinram combined represent 80% of total Blu-ray Disc movie production, but with Blu-ray Disc player prices continuing to drop, they are unable to fulfill demand and studios are forced to use smaller manufacturers such as U-Tech.
The sources decline to mention which studios were using U-Tech, nor how many discs were ordered, but the urgent nature of the request suggests that this holiday season will leave consumers with many new Blu-ray offerings.
