U.S. label A24 has sent us the official domestic trailer for acclaimed director Gus Van Sant's latest film, The Sea of Trees (2016), starring Matthew McConaughey, Naomi Watts, Katie Aselton, Ken Watanabe, Owen Burke, James Saito, and Jordan Gavaris. The film will open in theaters across the nation on August 26.
Earlier this year, the film was nominated for the prestigious Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Plot: A suicidal American befriends a Japanese man lost in a forest near Mt. Fuji and the two search for a way out. Cinematography by Kasper Tuxen (Beginners, Echo).
The following films directed by Gus Van Sant are already available on Blu-ray: Promised Land, Restless, Milk, Paranoid Park, Paris, je t'aime, Elephant, Good Will Hunting, To Die For, and My Own Private Idaho.
