British label 88 Films has detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of director Richard Lester's film Cuba (1979), starring Sean Connery, Brooke Adams, Jack Weston, Chris Sarandon, and Lonette McKee. The release will be available for purchase on September 12.
Synopsis: The legendary Sean Connery headlines an all-star cast in director Richard Lester's (Superman II & III) epic tale of love during revolution.
Major Robert Dapes (Connery) is a mercenary sent to Cuba at the request of the corrupt General Bello (Martin Balsam, Psycho). While there he witnesses the horrors of the brutal Batista regime that hired him and rekindles his relationship with old flame, Alexandra Pulido (Brooke Adams, The Dead Zone), who is now married to wealthy plantation owner Juan (Chris Sarandon, Fright Night). As Havana falls into turmoil, Dapes finds himself a target of the uprising.
