For the week that ended on June 19th, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment's
Zootopia retained its position at the top of the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. This animated adventure - the latest from
Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore - was a box-office smash when it debuted last March.
Zootopia grossed just over $1 billion worldwide, and it scored a
respectable Metacritic score of 78%. This week,
Zootopia had a Blu-ray market share of 51%.
Next on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts was Universal Studios Home Entertainment's
London Has Fallen. The sequel to 2013's surprise hit
Olympus Has Fallen, this new film was a modest success for the studio last January.
London Has Fallen grossed over $195 million worldwide on top of its estimated $60-million production budget, and it garnered a
28% favorability rating on Metacritic. In terms of sales percentages,
London Has Fallen sold 54% as many Blu-rays as
Zootopia (and had a Blu-ray market share of 55%) and 50% as many total units.
Finally, Twentieth Century Home Entertainment's
Deadpool rounded out the top three positions on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media rankings. Director Tim Miller's raunchy action-comedy was a huge success when it premiered last February.
Deadpool grossed over $762 million worldwide on top of its estimated $53-million production budget, and it scored an
65% favorability rating on Metacritic. On the Blu-ray-only list,
Deadpool sold 50% as many discs as
Zootopia and had a strong Blu-ray market share of 69%. Regarding the overall package-media chart,
Deadpool also sold 37% as many total units as the Disney hit.
