Sharp to Bring First HDTV/Blu-ray Combos Worldwide

Sharp Electronics has announced that they will bring their HDTV/Blu-ray combos to Japan next month, followed by a US release later this year, and a European release early next year. These DX-series LCD HDTVs will be available in sizes from 26-52 inches. Prices will range from $1,700-$4,900, which represents a premium of only $100 over similar non-Combo LCD HDTVs from the company.
In addition to the Blu-ray recorder, which will utilize AVC to store the video, these LCD HDTVs will feature dual digital tuners so that you can watch a channel and record another at the same time. No other information was released at this time.
