Upcoming 88 Films Blu-ray Releases

Independent British distributors 88 Films have detailed a couple of upcoming releases and added some new ones to their catalog. The new titles are expected to arrive on the market in late 2016/early 2017.

UPCOMING 88 FILMS ITALIAN COLLECTION TITLES:

Hands of Steel

Synopsis: A cyborg is programmed to kill a scientist who holds the fate of mankind in his hands. He fails and hides in a diner in a desert run by a woman who likes him. The people who sent him are after him and so is the local arm wrestling champ. Directed by Sergio Martino, and starring Daniel Greene, Janet Agren, Claudio Cassinelli, George Eastman, and Roberto Bisacco.

STREET DATE: LATE 2016.

2019: After the Fall of New York

Synopsis: After the nuclear holocaust, society breaks down into two groups, the evil Euraks and the rebel Federation. A mercenary named Parsifal (Sopkiw) is hired by the Federation to infiltrate New York City and rescue the only fertile woman left on Earth. But with all the obstacles ahead, he will need to count on Big Ape (Eastman), and the mysterious Ratchet (Puppo) to accomplish the mission, and save the human race from extinction.

After an endless wait, Sergio Martino's seminal, post-apocalyptic classic comes home, digitally restored and presented in its original scope aspect ratio for the first time ever. Starring Michael Sopkiw (Blastfighter), George Eastman (Anthropophagous), Al Yamanouchi (Endgame), and Romano Puppo (Escape from the Bronx), and benefiting from an amazing synth score by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis (Oliver Onions), revel in what is often considered a neglected genre, the post nuke film. Ironmaster

Synopsis: A tale that takes place at the dawn of history. The movie tells the story of a tribe that discovers how to fashion weapons out of iron and use them for their own survival. However, the creation of iron also causes the tribe to battle for possession of the new weapons.Directed by Umberto Lenzi, and starring Sam Pasco, Elvire Audray, George Eastman, Pamela Prati, Jacques Herlin, and Danilo Mattei.

STREET DATE: EARLY 2017.

Delirium

Synopsis: This spaghetti horror's storyline revolves around a former hooker (Grandi) running a successful men's magazine. An obsessed admirer systematically slaughters her models (occasionally increasing the magazine's output) and supplies the mistress with pictures of their disfigured corpses taken in front of her semi-nude posters visible in the background. Is she going to be the psycho's next victim? NEW 2K RESTORATION. Directed by Lamberto Bava, and starring Serena Grandi, Daria Nicolodi, Vanni Corbellini, Capucine, George Eastman, and David Brandon.

The Cynic, the Rat & the Fist

Synopsis: Luigi Maietto (Chinaman) escapes from prison he then orders two henchman to murder the inspector whose testimonal led to his being jailed. Inspector Tanzi is left for dead but lives. The local newspapers cover up for him and pretend the assassination had worked. When Tanzi's able to his superior wants him to hide in Switzerland. But Tanzi defies him and intends to make sure that Maietto is put back in prison. Directed by Umberto Lenzi, and starring Maurizio Merli, John Saxon, Tomas Milian, Gabriella Lepori, and Guido Alberti.

Syndicate Sadists

Synopsis: A biker's brother is killed while investigating the kidnapping of a young boy, the byproduct of a war between two crime families. The biker vows to get revenge by finding the kidnapped boy and destroying the two families. Directed by Umberto Lenzi, and starring Tomás Milián, Joseph Cotten, Maria Fiore, Mario Piave, and Luciano Catenacci.
