British label 88 Films will add to its Blu-ray catalog director Martin Campbell's crime thriller
Criminal Law (1988), starring Gary Oldman, Kevin Bacon, Tess Harper, Karen Young, and Joe Don Baker. Currently, the release is scheduled to arrive on the market on September 12.
Synopsis: Oldman portrays slick Boston attorney Ben Chase, whose career gets an upward surge when he successfully defends blueblood Martin Thiel (Bacon) during a well-publicized murder trial. But when he realized that Thiel is the exacting, vicious serial killer he was accused of being, Chase is torn between professional responsibility and his own conscience. Hoping to snare the egotistical killer in a misstep, Chase engages in a tense game of cat-and-mouse and Thiel, blurring the lines between right and wrong, victim and villain, and fascination and repulsion.
