For the week that ended on April 17th, Lucasfilm and Disney Home Entertainment's Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens remained at the top of the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. The latest installment in the iconic Star Wars franchise made a huge commercial impact when it hit theaters last December. The Force Awakens grossed over $2 billion worldwide on top of its estimated $245-million production budget, and it scored an 81% favorability rating on Metacritic. Furthermore, during its first week on home media, The Force Awakens outsold its remaining nineteen Blu-ray and DVD competitors in the Top 20 VideoScan charts nearly five to one. This week, The Force Awakens had a strong Blu-ray market share of 74%.

Next on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts was Warner Home Entertainment's Justice League vs Teen Titans. Another in Warner and DC Animated's successful run of direct-to-home media superhero adventures, Justice League vs Teen Titans premiered this week at number two, presumably enjoying the synergistic boost from the recent theatrical release of Zack Snyder's controversial Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Justice League vs Teen Titans had a Blu-ray market share of 59% and sold 7% as many Blu-rays and 9% as many total units as The Force Awakens.

Finally, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 rounded out the top three positions on the Blu-ray-only and overall home-media rankings. This final installment in the Hunger Games franchise - and the direct continuation of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 - netted its distributor a fairly robust profit last year. The film grossed about $281 million domestically on top of its estimated $160-million production budget, and it generated an unspectacular 65% Metacritic score. Mockingjay - Part 2 had a Blu-ray market share of 49% and sold 6% as many Blu-rays and 8% as many total units as The Force Awakens.
