Magnolia to Release Norway and Denmark's Official Oscar Entries on Blu-ray

Magnolia Pictures will release two Oscar nominated films on Blu-ray: Roar Uthaug's The Wave (2015 and Tobias Lindholm's A War (2015). The two releases will be available for purchase in June.
The Wave was Norway's official entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016.
Official synopsis: The experienced geologist Kristian Eikfjord has accepted a job offer out of town. He is getting ready to move from the city of Geiranger with his family, when he and his colleagues measure small geological changes in the underground. Kristian gets worried and his worst nightmare is about to come true, when the alarm goes off and the disaster is inevitable. With less than 10 minutes to react, it becomes a race against time in order to save as many as possible including his own family. Starring Kristoffer Joner, Ane Dahl Torp, Thomas Bo Larsen, and Fridtjov Såheim. STREET DATE: JUNE 21.

Official synopsis: Company commander Claus M. Pedersen (Pilou Asbæk) and his men are stationed in an Afghan province. Meanwhile back in Denmark Claus' wife Maria (Tuva Novotny) is trying to hold everyday life together with a husband at war and three children missing their father. During a routine mission, the soldiers are caught in heavy crossfire and in order to save his men, Claus makes a decision that has grave consequences for him - and his family back home.
In his Academy Award Nominated film, director Tobias Lindholm employs those who have been closest to the conflict, using Danish soldiers and Taliban warriors, relatives and refugees, as he strives towards realism.
