British distributors Screenbound Pictures/Odeon Entertainment will add to their Blu-ray catalog director Marcel Camus' classic film
Black Orpheus (1959), starring Marcel Camus, Breno Mello, Marpessa Dawn, Fausto Guerzoni, and Lourdes de Oliveira. The release will be available for purchase on June 27.
Synopsis: Camus' classic film transposes the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice to the city of Rio de Janeiro at the height of the carnival, with a streetcar conductor as Orpheus and a local country girl as Eurydice. Winner of a Best Foreign Film Oscar in 1959.
