Independent British distributors Shameless Screen Entertainment have confirmed that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray Michele Soavi's film The Sect (1991), starring Kelly Curtis, Herbert Lom, and Mariangela Giordano. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.
The upcoming release will sourced from a new 2K restoration and will include the original English version of the film, as well as an Italian version with new English subtitles.
Synopsis: Schoolteacher Kelly Curtis (sister of scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis) - delivering one of the bes tfemale lead performances in 90s horror cinema - has been chosen by a Manson-like devil-worshipping sect headed by Herbert Lom (of Pink Panther fame) to give birth to the son of Satan, himself. Screenplay by Dario Argento, Gianni Romoli, and Michele Soavi.
