Upcoming 101 Films Blu-ray Releases

Independent British distributors 101 Films will add a number of new titles to their Blu-ray catalog in April and May. Amongst them are Solar Warriors (1986), Delta Force 2: Operation Stranglehold (1990), and Exterminator 2.

Exterminator 2

Robert Ginty reprises his role as the vigilante known as the Exterminator in this action sequel. This time, a gang vow to rid New York of the Exterminator after its leader X (Mario Van Peebles)'s brother is killed by the vigilante. When their attack on Eastland gets personal, his alter ego picks up his flame thrower to turn up the heat on the city's criminals.

STREET DATE: MAY 9.

Delta Force 2: Operation Stranglehold

Chuck Norris reprises his role as Delta Force leader Colonel Scott McCoy in this action sequel. This time round the action centres on Ramon Cota (Billy Drago), an evil Colombian drug baron who has taken a surveillance team of US government officials hostage. McCoy's elite Delta Force crew are soon on the case, mounting a ruthless assault on Cota's remote compound in San Carlos and stopping at nothing to bring him to justice.

STREET DATE: MAY 2.

I Am Wrath

Unemployed engineer Stanley Hill (John Travolta) witnesses the brutal murder of his wife Vivian (Rebecca De Mornay) who was attacked by thugs in a parking garage. Wracked with guilt, Stanley is haunted by the image of Vivian dying in his arms. When Detective Gibson (Sam Trammell) and other corrupt police officers are unable and unwilling to bring the killers to justice, Stanley turns to his old friend Dennis (Christopher Meloni) and decides to take matters into his own hands. It is only then that Stanley and Dennis are found to have a mysterious past that, until now, they have kept very well hidden. As they inflict their revenge, those involved in the cover up realise that Stanley and Dennis are more dangerous than they could ever have imagined…

Solar Warriors

Richard Jordan, Jami Gertz and Jason Petric star in this futuristic sci-fi drama. Set in a post-apocalyptic future where most of Earth's water has disappeared and the planet is ruled by the Eco Protectorate corporation, the story follows a group of teen skateboarders who are held captive in an orphanage on the desert planet. After the group's leader Grock (Jordan) discovers a magical orb, the teenagers rebel against their megalomaniac ruler and, with the help of a group of outlaws known as the Eco Warriors, try to restore water to the Earth.

STREET DATE: MAY 2.

It! The Terror from Beyond Space

Aboard a nuclear-powered spaceship, on the return journey from Mars, Col. Edward Carruthers (Marshall Thompson) is left as the sole survivor after his fellow crew members are all killed by a hostile alien life form. A rescue mission, headed by Commander Col. Van Heusen (Kim Spalding), is sent in to investigate the disaster but they too begin to be picked off by the seemingly invincible monster.

STREET DATE: APRIL 26.

Stone Cold

Joe Huff (Brian Bosworth) is a cop who's angry at the system for handling criminals with kid gloves. He's on suspension but the FBI gives him an opportunity to go undercover in Mississippi and infiltrate "The Brotherhood," a white supremacist biker gang that runs drugs. In the Brotherhood, each member legally changes his name to his Brotherhood nickname. They're led by a violent psychopath named Chains Cooper. (Lance Henriksen). Joe - renamed "John Stone" – begrudgingly accepts the job. As a member of the gang, Joe learns that they're plotting a paramilitary assault on the state capitol to rescue a gang member sentenced to execution and it's up to Joe to stop them.

STREET DATE: APRIL 18.

Ghoulies

As a child, Jonathan (Peter Liapis) was almost killed by his father, Malcolm (Michael Des Barres), during a satanic ritual. After being saved and raised by Wolfgang (Jack Nance), who has kept him unaware of his background, Jonathan inherits Malcolm's house and moves in with girlfriend Rebecca (Lisa Pelikan). Through his explorations of the house he begins unlocking the secrets and latent powers contained within his new found home. But there are other dark powers at work in the house; powers more terrifying, more hideous than anything you've ever seen. It is foretold that Evil will triumph and Ghoulies will walk the earth…

Ghoulies II

The Ghoulies are back and more devilish than ever, as they turn an unsuspecting carnival into a house of pandemonium in this wildly outrageous sequel to the original smash hit to "Ghoulies"! "Satan's Den" has received its final warning; either the not-so-creepy House of Horrors spooks-up its act and scares some customers fast or its gateway to hell will be closed for eternity. Just when Larry Prentice (Damon Martin) and his uncle Ned (Royal Dano) think there's not a ghost of a chance that they'll save their show, they get some uninvited visitors to spice things up. The Ghoulies makes "Satan's Den" their home and profits soar as the demonic little creatures wreak havoc on the helpless fairgrounds. So take a ride on the Ghoulie-Go-Round and play some Bumper Ghoulies – enjoy yourself because the Ghoulies will always get you in the end!

Firewalker

This smashing, no-holds-barred adventure stars action legend Chuck Norris (Missing in Action) and Lou Gossett (Toy Soldiers) as a pair of treasure-hunters with a knack for finding danger at every turn! After a long career of mishaps, wrong turns and utter failures, archaeological adventurers Max (Norris) and Leo (Gossett) are ready to call it quits until a spunky blonde beauty with an ancient treasure map hires them to guide her into Central America to find Aztec gold. But as they draw closer to the priceless bounty, they are unaware that a powerful, vengeful spirit is tracking their every move and will stop at nothing to protect the sacred treasure!
