Independent British distributors Curzon Artificial Eye have sent us the official trailer for director László Nemes' film Son of Saul (2015), starring Géza Röhrig, Levente Molnár, and Urs Rechn. The film will open in cinemas across the country on April 29.
Curzon Artificial Eye have also informed us that they plan to bring the film to Blu-ray on June 27.
Son of Saul was Hungary's official entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016. Winner of Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language and Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
Synopsis: In the horror of 1944 Auschwitz, a prisoner forced to burn the corpses of his own people finds moral survival upon trying to salvage from the flames the body of a boy he takes for his son.
