Kino Lorber have detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of The Inspector, which is part of The DePatie/Freleng Collection. The two-disc release will be available for purchase on April 26.

Synopsis: The screen s most comically inept detective wreaks havoc on the boulevards of Paris as he, with the help of his sidekick Deux Deux, wages a single-minded (and narrow-sighted) battle for justice. Initially presented as theatrical attractions, the cartoons gained a much greater audience when they were broadcast as part of the Pink Panther animated television series. This special edition collects all 34 episodes of The Inspector, on two discs.

Content and Special Features:
  • All cartoons presented in their original aspect ratio of 1:33:1
  • Documentary #1: "Goodbye Warner Bros. Hello DePatie-Freleng"
  • Documentary #2: "Of Aardvarks, Ants, Inspectors and Cranes."
Note: Both documentaries will appear on all three releases. The documentaries include interviews with Friz Freleng, filmmaker Greg Ford, animator/director Art Leonardi, ink & print artist Barbara Donatelli, historian Jerry Beck and critic Will Friedwald.
  • Audio Commentaries by Friz Freleng, Filmmaker Greg Ford, Author Mark Arnold, and Historian Jerry Beck.
Note: The Freleng commentaries are compiled from archival interviews
  • Reversible Blu-ray Art - New sketches by the original animator/designer Art Leonardi
