Independent distributors Well Go USA have sent us a clip from a recent behind the scenes featurette for director Wilson Yip's new film Ip Man 3 (2015), starring Donnie Yen, Patrick Tam, Jin Zhang, and Mike Tyson. The film will open in theaters across the nation on January 22, 2016.
A Blu-ray release of Ip Man 3 is expected to be announced after the film's theatrical premiere.
Official synopsis: Donnie Yen (upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2) ignites the screen in a return to the role that made him an icon - as Ip Man, the real-life Wing Chun grandmaster who mentored Bruce Lee. In this explosive third installment of the blockbuster martial arts series, when a band of brutal gangsters led by a crooked property developer (Mike Tyson) make a play to take over the city, Master Ip is forced to take a stand. Fists will fly as some of the most incredible fight scenes ever filmed play out on the big screen in this soon-to-be genre classic.
The first Ip Man film was released in 2008. Two years later, Wilson Yip directed a sequel that united Donnie Yen with martial arts veteran Sammo Hung.
