Star Wars: The Force Awakens has set a new box office record. According to Disney's final numbers, which were revealed this afternoon, global ticket sales for the latest Star Wars film grossed $528 million. The previous record holder was Jurassic World with $525 million.
In North America, the film's weekend numbers were just as impressive. In the United States and Canada, the film generated $248 million in ticket sales.
