Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures have released the first trailer for director David Yates' The Legend of Tarzan, which stars Alexander Skarsgård (HBO's "True Blood") as the legendary character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Margot Robbie, Djimon Hounsou, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent and Christoph Waltz. The Legend of Tarzan arrives in US theaters on July 1, 2016.

David Yates (the final four Harry Potter films and the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) directed The Legend of Tarzan from a screenplay by Adam Cozad and Craig Brewer, story by Brewer and Cozad based on the Tarzan stories created by Burroughs.
